Climate Change ?

The research involved talking to people from different backgrounds about climate change.

I followed the method of

Interview - analysis - observation - analysis

My aim for the research was

  1. Uncover how users learn about climate change

  2. How do they feel about climate change overall

  3. Observe if they take any measures to combat climate change in their daily lives

Masterclasses with people working very close with the environment and going on research tour which brought me closer to the environment played a very important role in my primary research.

 

Research tours to Hessarghatta, Mangalore and Coorg were eye opening, experiencing nature first hand.

  1. Climate anxiety and procrastination

  2. Understand behaviour in terms of habits and rewards.

  3. Learning about games and gamification

Analysis of research

A daily action: How they go about their day, this is where they are most comfortable at and it is important that I build my system around this. 

Discover: Where they read or know about something new, it could be from news, social media, or word of mouth. 

Research: When they try to find out more about the information they get. The way they consume the information. 

New behaviour: Learn what they could do about the situation, or help in some way. 

Loss of motivation: They either give up realizing they can’t do anything about it or they tired of taking efforts for what they are doing. 

I mapped these factors and noted the opportunities which I could use to work on. 

I analyzed 3 main ideas that I thought were appropriate for the intent and decided on one based on a SWOT analysis.

  1. Information made credible and comprehensible. (Fact checker) 

  2. Awareness of vicinity 

  3. Awareness of vicinity and their habits.

This was followed by studying some apps their flow and interaction.
